MORE ABOUT THE BRISTLES

The only biodegradable toothbrush bristles are made from boar hair, sisal or jute. The boar industry is cruel. It's also not a material we want in our mouths for various reasons. As much as we love the idea of sisal or jute, we found the reality is that this bristles get mushy after only a handful of uses. 

If you want a toothbrush that has a traditional feel, the bristles are typically made from 100% nylon.  Our bristles are 62% castor oil and 38% nylon. They are the most eco-friendly bristles currently available as they have less reliance on petroleum-based plastic. Our bristles have a slight contour as well- like a more traditional brush does. They are the best feeling natural toothbrush we tried. And we tried a lot!

END OF LIFE

We suggest pouring boiling water over your brush when it's done cleaning your teeth and use it as a cleaning brush. When it is fully exhausted, you can pull the bristles out with pliers and throw them away. The handle is compostable You can also simply snap the head off and discard before you compost the handle.
