Make zero your hero and help offset the excess of the holidays with this collection of our favorite zero waste items. Nearly every element of this gift set is compostable*, including the packaging and box. Light our BEESWAX VOTIVE as you soak in the tub with our FRENCH GREY SALT SOAK, and then treat your body to essentials like our 100% compostable nail scrub brush and our brand new peppermint toothpaste tabs. This collection also includes a soap pouch and soap tray that will extend the life of our already long-lasting bars.

*Note that the label on the glass container for the TOOTHPASTE TABS is not compostable, but we can send refills of the tabs in a compostable bag.

Detox and unwind your body and mind with our PINK GRAPEFRUIT + CYPRESS SALT SOAK. This is a concentrated, pure sea salt soak- two tablespoons added to a hot tub is all you need to melt the stress away. Our grey salt is hand harvested in France from nutrient rich sea water. The beautiful grey color comes from crystalizing on clay. Since ours is a pure salt soak you can choose to add common Epsom if you like. We recommend 2.5 cups per tub to truly feel the benefits.

Bright, uplifting pink grapefruit and bitter orange essential oils are rounded out with warm and rich cypress oil. This blend is slightly bitter, sweet and rich, like a craft cocktail!

Our packaging and labels are compostable! There are not many truly compostable labels on the market, and we are proud to have sourced ours- they are Cedar Grove certified.

Did you know compostable items that are thrown in the trash do not compost the same way. In fact it could take up to 100 years for them to break down, if they do at all.

French grey sea salt, essential oils of: pink grapefruit, bitter orange, organic cypress, petitgrain and copaiba

This shave soap is jam packed with luxurious ingredients that baby your skin and senses. Our extra virgin (and Fair Trade!) coconut oil is the nicest we've ever seen. Rare ucuuba butter from Brazil targets inflammation. Highly moisturizing babassu oil is said to help with skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis or rosacea. The soap lathers into small creamy bubbles that soften beard hair and prime them for a close shave. It can also be used to shampoo your beard and hair.

Leg and underarm shavers! We didn't forget you! The bentonite clay in this bar gives just enough slip for a smooth shave no matter where you’re saying goodbye to your hair.

Scent Profile: The scent of this shave soap is classic with a hint of modern. Our blue gum eucalyptus oil comes from Portugal and has more depth than your average eucalyptus. It's warmer and richer, with the same clean herbaceousness typically associated with eucalyptus. The scent is grounded with muhuhu oil, a woodsy, magnificent aroma that brings to mind the great outdoors and fresh cut wood. A real treat on your skin.

Size: 4.3 oz bar

Application: To shave we recommend lathering the soap using a mug and brush, but this bar will also lather well in your hands with a small amount of water.

Our Promise: 100% palm and hexane free. NO sulfates, synthetics, parabens, fragrance, EDTA or formaldehyde.

Ingredients: distilled water, organic extra virgin coconut oil (Fair Trade), extra virgin olive oil, castor oil, sodium hydroxide (lye), babassu oil, raw shea butter, raw ucuuba butter, unrefined hemp oil, organic rosehip powder, bentonite clay, organic cape aloe powder, essentials oils of: blue gum eucalyptus, rosemary, french lavender, peppermint, niaouli, muhuhu, balsm peru, black pepper, clary sage

Sweet orange oil mingles with spicy black pepper and the rich scent of clove. Such a good fall to winter smell. Comforting, warming and invigorating, this bar is full of creamy bubbles and long lasting lather.

Hand made in small batches in the US, our soap tray offers a beautiful and natural way to extend the life of District BATCH soaps.

Our soap trays are made from wood harvested in the US and are not treated with any chemicals. Natural wood does need some maintenance. We recommend rubbing a food grade oil, like sunflower, olive or walnut oil into the wood before use. They have been rubbed with a mineral oil once. Occasionally the trays will warp if they get really wet. Give them a scrub and let them dry for a couple days and they will flatten out once again.

Pro Tip: Some customers like to cut their District BATCH soap in half. Allowing our soap (or any natural soap) to dry out between uses will extend the life as well. Rest the soap on these trays and these soaps will last a long time!

There are so many good reasons to switch to drinking loose-leaf tea! First, many tea bags have plastic in them; the plastic doesn’t compost and cannot be recycled, also when you pour hot water on them, they release millions of micro plastics that we then digest when we drink the tea. Second, think of all the waste! The cardboard box, little paper tab and the bag itself, even if you can compost it, all go away if you buy bulk loose leaf- especially if you buy from a place that lets you bring your own container! Loose leaf tea is usually more affordable, and you can get creative making your own blends. Or just keep it simple.

Our individual strainer allows you to steep just one cup but can also accommodate a larger vessel if you like. The side mouth and handles are perfect for resting in teapots, mugs or glass bottles. The small lid acts as a tray for the wet strainer when you take it out.

This food grade stainless steel is easy to clean, won’t rust and dishwasher safe. Also, the mesh is very fine, catching all the loose-leaf tea.

If tea stains occur, simply use baking soda dissolved in warm water to softly scrub the strainer clean. The strainer should last over 20 years! When it does come to the end of its life, simply put it in the metal recycling bin.

Soap up with our bath size natural “wooly” sea sponge to gently cleanse your skin.  These soft, dense sponges will produce a rich creamy lather. Pair with a District BATCH body bar, like our CHARCOAL + JUNIPER DETOX BAR soap for a luxurious bath or shower experience.

Our sea sponges are sustainably harvested off the Florida Gulf Coast by divers known to our supplier.   They are compostable and biodegradable.

5 - 6"

Before your first use, rinse with warm water and ring out a few times. Breath in that beautiful sea salt smell, it won’t last long!

Let your sponge dry thoroughly after each use.  It is advisable to disinfect natural sponges on a regular basis, usually every 2-3 weeks if used daily. If taken care of these sponges can last up to a year!

When you decide to retire these for use on your body, you can use them for cleaning before you compost them.

Perfect for removing dirt from underneath fingernails and on the hands. The wooden handle is made from FSC beechwood. The FSC certification is considered the "gold standard" designation for wood harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable.

Bristles are 100% sisal plant. Packaging is 100% biodegradable and vegan and made from recycled non-bleached Kraft paper. A tree is planted for each purchase.

Our toothpaste tabs are awesome! They come in a reusable glass jar with metal tin. Currently the label is not compostable, but we are working on that. In the meantime, we are able to refill the container by sending the tablets in a compostable bag. Just send us a note at hello@districtbatch.com and let us know you need a refill!

Extend the life of you District BATCH soaps with this eco-friendly sisal soap bag! Just toss all the tiny left-over slivers and lather up with this mildly exfoliating bag. You may also choose to put larger pieces of soap in the bag.

Many people like to cut our bars in half. You could do this and use one half at a time in the sisal bag. If you can hang it up in between uses that will ensure it can dry out and really last a long time!

The packaging is made from 100% recycled non-bleached kraft paper and is printed with soy ink. The pouch itself is fully compostable and biodegradable.

We make these lovely little votives in-house using a blend of local beeswax and beeswax that was originally hand carried home by the founder from Taos, New Mexico. We know the farmers, know the bees are happy, the wax is pure and the burn is CLEAN!

This candle is zero waste!

Beeswax is compostable! We use pure cotton wicks that are coated with vegetable oil instead of crude oil, so these may be composted if any is left after burning. You can toss the metal tab at the bottom in the recycling.
